Canada–Cameroon ties were further strengthened this week in Douala, particularly in the energy sector, following the Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon’s courtesy visit to the Cameroon Petroleum Depots Company (SCDP) on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Upon arrival, Her Excellency, Mrs Marie-Claude Harvey, was welcomed by Mrs Véronique Moampea Mbio, SCDP General Manager, and immediately escorted to the latter’s office.Constructive talks between both ladies centred on an overview of SCDP and its core missions, as well as its ongoing and future projects. Opportunities for collaboration with the Canadian business community in the energy sector were also explored.At the end of the meeting which lasted about forty minutes, both parties reaffirmed their interest in boosting partnerships and supporting initiatives aimed at modernizing SCDP.Through this engagement, SCDP reinforces its commitment to openness and international outreach, further solidifying its role as a key player in Cameroon’s oil sector alongside its determination to build lasting cooperation with international stakeholders.
