Chad: SCDP links up with strategic partners From Tuesday 25th to Friday 28th of February 2025, the General Manager of the Cameroon Petroleum Depots Company (SCDP), Véronique Manzoua Moampea Mbio, met with stakeholders in the Chadian hydrocarbons sector, in a bid to strengthen ties between SCDP and its partners, namely Gazcom Afrique and the Agence de Régulation du Secteur Aval (Downstream Sector Regulatory Agency) (ARSAT). On Wednesday 26th of February 2025, at the head office of Gazcom Afrique, Véronique Manzoua Moampea Mbio liaised with Mahamat Souleyman Loni, the Board Chairman, and Mahamat Malick Youssouf, the General Manager, to discuss the collaboration between SCDP and Gazcom Afrique, a supplier of petroleum products for the southern part of Chad. The SCDP General Manager underscored the importance of the said cooperation for both countries, and presented the recent developments made by her company to streamline loading and unloading operations in Douala. The Gazcom Afrique GM expressed satisfaction with SCDP’s efforts while highlighting the growing demand for domestic gas in Chad. For his part, the Board Chairman emphasised the importance of an annual evaluation of the partnership and suggested an audit of Gazcom’s facilities by SCDP to enhance safety. During a courtesy visit to the Ambassador of Cameroon to Chad, Mohaman Sani Tanimou, the SCDP General Manager presented the context of the mission as well as the results of deliberations with Gazcom Afrique. The partnership was lauded by the ambassador who also emphasised the importance of Chad as a privileged economic partner of Cameroon within the sub-region. The visit was rounded off on the 27th of February 2025 with a meeting between Véronique Manzoua Moampea Mbio and Hassan Adoum Younousmi, General Manager of ARSAT, to discuss the logistical and customs challenges related to the supply of petroleum products to Chad.
